Atlanta, GA

Atlanta’s Center for Diversion and Services, open 24/7, is located within the City Detention Center, but operates separately from the jail. The diversion center addresses both short term needs like sobering, food, and a place to stay, while also connecting people to services for continued care. If needed, individuals are placed with a Care Navigator for long-term case management - there is no restriction on how long someone can work with a navigator. Chicago, IL

The Bobby E. Wright Supported Living Facility provides temporary, transitional housing for those experiencing "psychiatric, emotional, situational, or environmental" crises. They accept referrals from state or community hospitals, including outside of Illinois, along with self-referrals. Source.

The Houston Sobering Center provides short-term care for those who are under the influence of substances. Staffed by peer recovery specialists, EMTS, and behavioral health professionals, the center is open 24/7 and individuals from the police and other referrals. The average stay is 4-6 hours. Source 1. Multnomah county, OR

The Multnomah County Crisis Triage Center, located on the Providence Medical Center campus, combines a crisis line with onsite services including counseling, detoxification, subacute treatment for substance abuse, and referral to community providers. New York, NY

Crisis Respite Centers run by the NYC Health Department's Community Partners are located across the city. These residential-like programs offer stays for up to 28 days, and are staffed by both trained peers and non-peers to provide 24 hour support, mental health education, and linkage to further treatment. Individuals are eligible for services regardless of ability to pay or insurance. Source.

The Dona Ana County Crisis Triage Center provides up to 23 hours of immediate assessment and intervention through diagnosis, medication, and counseling. The center is open 24/7, free of charge. People Incorporated Mental Health Services provides integrated mental health, substance abuse, and medical care in 24-hour supervised residential facilities. 3 different locations offer a hybrid model of crisis intervention and intensive crisis care.
